Established in 1994 Big Springs Natural Spring Water is a family owned and operated business. Enjoy locally sourced pure, premium natural spring water from the foothills of the Flakney Ranges.
Since European settlement, the naturally rising spring water in the foothills of the Flakney Ranges has been used as a water supply for surrounding farms. Big Springs Station (owned by the Wilson family for over 150 years) is located 30 kilometres south-east of the Riverina’s major regional city Wagga Wagga (NSW).
Over 6 decades ago, Pat Wilson’s great, great grandfather bought back the natural spring reserve from the government and put in a well in the natural pondage. He noted in his diary, “the natural spring water could have commercial value.”
For over 140 years, the Wilson family has owned Big Springs Station. During the drought of 1994, Pat Wilson decided to diversify and thought it would be a great idea to bottle the pristine natural spring water from Big Springs Station.
From 1994 until 2004, Big Springs Natural Spring Water was bottled onsite at Big Springs Station. Starting with a handful of customers, by 2004 the high demand and increase in customers resulted in a purpose-built factory and administration facility being built in Wagga Wagga.
Big Springs Water now employs over 20 staff, including Pat Wilson’s son Angus. The close-knit, local team deliver premium Aussie natural spring water to over 6,000 clients throughout southern NSW, mid-western NSW, the ACT and north-east Victoria.
Over the last few years there have been more businesses entering the natural spring water market. Some are owned and operated by locals, while multi-national corporations own others.
Our spring water is carefully extracted from a single source; not multiple locations like other spring water. We provide the highest quality, 100% natural spring water – not bore water or town water that has been processed.
Big Springs Water is committed to recycling and looking after the natural environment. All our 15L bottles are returned and thoroughly cleansed before being reused. The lifecycle of the 15L water bottles is a closed-loop and every effort is made to recycle all production materials.
